I designed and built this rotating set to allow the space to change into three different apartments with ease and brevity in the transitions. Also the bed transformed into a couch and two chairs, while holding props and bedding.
I designed and built the set, lights, and magic for this production of WAIT UNTIL DARK at the Chain Theatre in Long Island City.
I used reclaimed materials and donated period props to create this basement apartment in Greenwich Village, NYC circa the 1940s.
We had rain on the window, a smoking ashtray, a trick knife that sprung from the wall, a working kitchen sink, and a rotary telephone cued from the booth.

I designed the Set and Props. The challenge was to create a space that could rotate (shift perspectives) as Juror #8 flips the room from a guilty verdict to not guilty.
I chose a minimalist contemporary design in order to allow the characters to pop and dominate the visual space while creating the sense of being corralled or caged in together.
I designed and constructed the set and lighting for The Chain Theatre at The American Theatre of Actors. This was a blackbox theatre. We built three levels of stage above the floor with reclaimed platforms.

I designed and constructed the Set, Light, and Projection Designs for this production of The Pillowman at the Chain Theatre in Long Island City, Queens.
All the "children's stories" told by the main character were accompanied by animations that I also created.
The proscenium transformed into a mattress pallet that also served to hide the interrogation room table when the scene shifting into the holding cell.

The SR window was made from reclaimed LED camera lighting equipment, gels, and a florescent lighting cage. I felt it important for the men of the asylum to have the outside world ever-present.
The nurses station SL pulled apart and the counter became the gurney for the electro shock therapy scene.

The window was a slow subliminal loop of car headlights on the highway below. The image is composite of several images taken from a building in Chicago.

The concept was a crow's nest/ junk yard on top of a mountain. All the set and puppets where made from recycled materials.
These were promotional street theatre performances for 9thirty Theatre Company. The assignment was to tell story though movement and song.
The first, I directed, choreographed and built the set and costumes for the story of The Giving Tree set to The Killers "All These Things That I have Done"
The second, I wrote a fable of a Rock That Fell In Love with a runner as she stopped to stretch on him set to Radiohead's "Creep". Here I challenged myself to tell a story solely through eye movement, so I built this rock puppet and operated the eyes for the performance.
